The Great Nail Polish Debacle of 2012
I know it's been awhile and I will have a great post about our upcoming vacation to Colorado. But first I had to get this story down so I don't forget it! :)
I promised the girls I would let them each pick out their own nail polish today. We went to Walgreens because they have nail polish for $.99. Cam found her color right away. Avery was very careful about her choice. She just wasn't sure about any of the colors they had. She then wanders away and finds a color she likes. It was $8! Sorry, no. I steered her back to the cheap stuff. She finds 2 colors and wants them both. I told her she could only pick one. She decided she didn't like any of them and wanted to look at Walmart which was our next stop. We get in the car to leave and she starts to cry. She's upset she didn't find anything. I assure her we will find something at Walmart and she stops crying.
When we get to Walmart we head straight for the nail polish. Again she can't decide. I end up painting all of her fingers a different color to let her see what they look like. After 20 minutes (seriously!) I convince her to get the silver sparkles to go over a pink at home. We finish our shopping and head home.
A couple of hours later I decide it's time to do their nails. I go to get all the new polish out. Where's Avery's?! The super special, took forever, tears were shed nail polish!?! I check my receipt. It's not even on there. Somehow it didn't make it home. Oh crap. Avery will flip. I tell her and thank goodness she's fine with it. I may have had to promise to paint her nails three different colors with a crackle over coat. It may have taken forever and she may have all ready messed them up. But she doesn't even care that her polish didn't make it home.
